The event provided a familiar atmosphere and a great constructive climate for an academic exchange in the rapidly growing field of talent management. 40 participants representing leading scholars and early-stage researchers from 16 different countries took part in the Workshop and discussed their research in 4 sessions.
Participants have commented that it was interesting to see that the focus of the contributions has changed over the past three years. Whereas at the first EIASM Workshop on Talent Management more conceptual research, concerning the definition of talent management and the boundaries of the field, was presented, this year more empirical work was done and the focus lied more on talent management in different contexts (e.g. talent management in MNEs, the public sector, family businesses, NGOs) and for different target groups (such as women, expatriates, and millennials).
The key note speech from Oliver Viel, gave a valuable insight in companys talent attraction and employer branding activities. Breaks between the sessions and the workshop dinner have provided various possibilities for informal academic discussions and networking with other participants.
The 4th EIASM Workshop on Talent Management will take place on September 24-25, 2015 at the University of Valencia in Spain.
